Audio Submission & Delivery Guidelines

Submitting Mixes For Mastering

For best results (unprocessed stereo files at native resolution, 6 dB headroom):

  • Original stereo-interleaved WAV/AIFF only—no MP3/FLAC/WMA, iTunes imports, or lossy conversions.

  • No limiting/compression/bus processing; peaks ≤ -6 dBFS for dynamics.

  • Native mixing sample rate (44.1–96 kHz), bit depth (16–32 bits); no conversion/dither.

  • Label: "Artist – Song Title" (e.g., "Band – Track01.wav").

  • Notes: Album title, sequence, vinyl sides/RPM, ISRC if available.

Receiving & Handling Masters

Approve after full review—sign-off releases us from liabilities. Avoid iTunes/CD-R burns (compromises formatting):

  • Unzip/verify files (use DDPi checksums).

  • Upload ZIPs via FTP to plant/engineer (digital preferred).

  • Vinyl: High-res WAVs (A/B sides) + PQ sheets (timings/spacing).

  • CD: DDPi fileset (PQ/ISRC/UPC/metadata) + cue sheet (Red Book gaps/timings).

  • Request physical CD-R from us if needed; follow plant instructions.

Master Format Differences

Tailored for distribution:

  • Vinyl: High-res WAVs (A/B sides) + PQ sheets (timings/spacing).

  • CD: DDPi image for replication; embeds PQ/ISRC/UPC/CD-Text.

  • Digital: High-res WAVs for downloads (flexible encoding).

  • Streaming: WAVs at platform LUFS (e.g., -14 for Spotify).

  • MP3: 320 kbps files with metadata for direct playback.
